US Youth Soccer Region II Seeking Assistant Administrator

Assistant Administrator (ODP)
 

Region II is comprised of the 14 State Associations in US Youth Soccer Region II and is directed by the Regional Council in compliance with the policies and procedures of US Youth Soccer.

SUMMARY

The Assistant Administrator for US Youth Soccer Association Region II is responsible for implementing the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program as approved by the US Youth Soccer Board of Directors and further defined by the Region II Council in the Policies and Procedures for US Youth Soccer Region II Olympic Development Program within the constraints of the budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Hire and supervise all Regional ODP staff positions as needed in consultation with the Regional Administrator.
  2. Recommend Boys and Girls Program Head Coaches in consultation with the Region II Administrator.
  3. Prepare annual Region II ODP budget for the Regional Administrator for inclusion in the overall budget for approval by the Region II Council.
  4. Oversee all Region II ODP finances.
  5. Project and manage inventory for Region II staff/player gear and equipment in accordance with purchasing procedures. 
  6. Negotiate Regional ODP contracts, including but not limited to, camps, showcases, coach compensation agreements, administrator compensation agreements and Regional team travel agreements.
  7. Conduct and provide ODP Regional Staff and program/event evaluations for presentation to the Regional Administrator and Region II Council.
  8. Propose and manage the annual Region II ODP calendar.
  9. Organize and coordinate Region II hosted events, including but not limited to, camps, showcases, national/international travel, as well as interstate friendlies and sub-regionals.
  10. Market the Region II ODP camps and events.
  11. Organize and chair Region II ODP meetings.
  12. Represent Boys and Girls ODP Program at all Region II meetings.
  13. Represent Region II on all National ODP committees.


QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be an individual able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to the expectations of Region II. The candidate will be dedicated to developing each player, support coaching needs, and be available to attend Regional activities. Must live within Region II.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Requires substantial knowledge of the game of soccer; Knowledge or experience working with ODP programs preferred
  • Requires excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects within established time frames
  • Requires the ability to analyze data and problem solving skills that result in timely determination of appropriate actions
  • Requires teamwork ability with a positive attitude, works well with others and communicates effectively with diverse constituents
  • Requires computer literacy and must be fluent in Microsoft Office; Knowledge or experience working with online registration systems, databases and social media preferred
  • Have demonstrated initiative and the ability to work with considerable independence from home and/or in a designated office
  • Ability to work a seasonal schedule, including evenings , weekends, week-long and/or Region II hosted events as required expectations
  • Develop and foster working relationships with state associations within Region II, US Youth Soccer, US Soccer and other relevant professional organizations
  • Develop a working knowledge of how each state association operates their respective ODP state programs
  • Provide exceptional customer service to membership, including but not limited to, state associations and participants
  • Exercise good judgment and discretion in handling materials and matters
  • Flexibility in effectively administering Region II ODP programming in a changing organization and environment
  • Professionalism and determination to see each task completed on time and with excellence
  • Relentless pursuit of establishing Region II as the premier Region within US Youth Soccer
