US Youth Soccer Region II Announces ODP Girls Head Coach

WEST ALLIS, WI (March 19, 2012) US Youth Soccer Region II Director Bill Podewils announces Mike Dickey, former US Soccer National Staff Coach and Technical Advisor, as ODP Girls Head Coach.   In his role with US Soccer, Dickey was responsible for scouting and training elite players throughout the country, and as a National Staff Instructor for the USSF National A, B, and C Coaching License Courses.  Over the past 7 years Dickey served as Head Coach for the USSF U-14 Girls National Team (2005-2007), Head Coach for the USSF U-15 Girls National Team and Head Coach (2006-2008) of the USSF U-17 Women’s National Team (2010) as well as Assistant Coach for the USSF U-17 WNT that took the silver medal in the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand (2008).  

"We are excited to have Mike join the Region II ODP Girls program" says Bill Podewils. "Mike brings his vast knowledge and soccer experience to assist our elite players in their development and also in securing their goals."

Prior to his job with U S Soccer Dickey was a collegiate coach, club Technical Director, Region I ODP Senior Staff member and Head Coach of a professional Team. Dickey holds a USSF ‘A’ license and a German Soccer Federation ‘B’ license in addition to a B.A. in Human Development and Performance from the University of Oregon.
