Region III Championships Quarterfinal Round Begins

The next step in achieving Regional Championship dreams started Monday for teams in the Under-14 through Under-16 age groups at the Region III Championships in Edmond, Okla. After the quarterfinal matches, just four teams remain in each of these gender age groups. Those teams are now preparing for the upcoming semifinal matches and a chance to get one step closer to a spot in the US Youth Soccer National Championships, held July 22-28 at Overland Park Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan.

US Youth Soccer Region III Championships Continue in Edmond, Okla.

The 2013 US Youth Soccer Region III (South) Championships, presented by the National Guard, continued Saturday at the ESC Complex in Edmond, Okla. More than 190 games have been completed, and tomorrow’s action will decide the 90 teams moving on from the event’s preliminary rounds. Sunday’s matches begin at 8 a.m. CT and continue throughout the day with the final matches beginning at 5:45 p.m.

US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League adds Pro Youth Clubs Affiliates Division

The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League (MRL) announced an innovative competition platform within the MRL featuring teams from two Major League Soccer youth clubs and their affiliate premier youth soccer clubs in the Midwest. The Pro Youth Clubs Affiliates Division will be operated under the umbrella of the MRL but will be conducted outside of the current three-tier structure of the league. Only MLS youth clubs and their affiliates are eligible to compete in this new division.
