US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the 2013 US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) Presidents Cup champions, crowned Sunday in Overland Park, Kan.

Beginning today, the US Youth Soccer National League is accepting team applications for the 2013-2014 seasonal year. Applications are due Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Competition will be held for the Under-14, Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 Boys and Girls age groups.

The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League (MRL) announced an innovative competition platform within the MRL featuring teams from two Major League Soccer youth clubs and their affiliate premier youth soccer clubs in the Midwest. The Pro Youth Clubs Affiliates Division will be operated under the umbrella of the MRL but will be conducted outside of the current three-tier structure of the league. Only MLS youth clubs and their affiliates are eligible to compete in this new division.

2013 Region II Presidents Cup

The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League (MRL) has announced changes for 2013-2014, refining its levels of competition into a three-tier structure consisting of Premier I, Premier II and First Divisions, and creating a revised Premier I Division qualification competition for the Under-13 and Under-14 age groups during the 2013 Fall Season.

The recent death of Salt Lake City, Utah, soccer referee Ricardo Portillo makes me incredibly sad. There isn't a game on earth that is worth someone's life. I read that his family says the parents of the 17-year-old keeper who hit him in the head should bear some of the blame. I guarantee you that neither the parents nor anyone else on the sidelines intended for Portillo's death to happen. But time and time again I've watched negative energy result in unintended consequences.
