2012 US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Region II Holdover Camps

General Holdover Camp Description
At the conclusion of the 2012 U S Youth Soccer ODP Girls Region II 1995 & 1996 Tournament and the 1997 Camp, 30-36 players will be selected to remain and participate in the Pool Training Camp to be held in DeKalb, IL. The two main purposes for the pool training camp are to provide higher level training for all pool participants, and to aid in the selection of players to be invited into interregional and national events.
The player pool list will be announced immediately following the final camp activity at the closing
ceremony, and will also be posted the ODP Girls Region II Camp Page. The evening prior to the final
day of play at camp or the tournament, state team coaches must inform the regional age group administrator of any players who may not be able to stay for the Invite camp if selected. Parents will be notified of selection to the training camp by their own child or the state team coach. The 1995 & 1996 tournament players selected will be bused from Rockford to DeKalb with their team administrators for the camp. The 1997 Camp players will remain in DeKalb.
 

1997 Holdover Camp | July 13-15, 2012 | DeKalb, Illinois

Staff, Schedule, Housing and Meals
The holdover players will be under the guidance of the regional age group head coach and assistants, and will be supervised by the Region II age group team administrator. This staff will be responsible for training, development and supervision during the pool training camp. The schedules of these holdover camps will be posted on the ODP Girls Region II Camp Page. Housing assignment and meals will be at the University Plaza, 900 Crane Drive, DeKalb, IL.
Transportation

It is the responsibility of each family to make arrangements for transporting their player home at the end of holdover camp. Camp concludes around noon on July 15, 2012. If there is an overlapping regular camp that is concluding the same day and time as holdover camp, players may possibly ride the state bus home. Parents may need to contact the state administrator and/or state office to make such arrangements.

Events
At this time we expect the 1997 age group to send one team to each of the following events:
-Nov. 17 – 23, 2012 U S Youth Soccer Interregional, Boca Raton, FL
-Feb. 5 – 10, 2013 U S Youth Soccer National Developmental Camp, Site TBD
At the end of the holdover camp, the coaches will name the 18 players selected to participate in the U S Youth Soccer Interregional in Boca Raton, Florida. Players selected for the U S Youth Soccer
Developmental Camp will receive invitations via email at the end of November 2012.
  

1995 & 1996 Invite Camp | July 15-18, 2012 | DeKalb, Illinois

Events
Region II will send a 1995 and 1996 team to the 2012 U S Youth Soccer ODP Girls Interregional to be held Nov. 16-22 in Boca Raton, Florida. The Region will also send 18 players from the 1996 age group to the U S Youth Soccer ODP National Development Camp to be held February 5-10 at a site to be named.
