At the conclusion of the 1998, 1997 and 1999 Camps, 30-36 players will be selected to remain and participate in the Boys ODP Pool Training Camp to be held in Illinois. The 1998 and 1997 camp attendees will remain in Rockford and the 1999 player will travel to DeKalb to hold camp on the NIU Campus. The 1995 and 1996 Invite Camp will be held in Rockford. The holdover camps will start at the conclusion of the regular camp or Tournament. The two main purposes for the pool training camp are to provide higher level training for all pool participants and to aid in the selection of players to be invited into interregional, national and international events.

The player pool list will be announced immediately following the final camp activity at the closing

ceremony, and will also be posted on the ODP Boys Region II Camp Page. The evening prior to the final camp day, state team coaches must inform the regional age group administrator of any players who may not be able to stay for the holdover camp if selected. Parents will be notified of selection to the pool training camp by their own child or the state team coach. There is no charge to the player for the 1998, 1997, and 1999 holdover camps. The 1995/1996 Invite Camp fee will be $345.

 

The holdover players will be under the guidance of the regional age group head coach and assistants, and will be supervised by the Region II age group team administrator. This staff will be responsible for training, development and supervision during the pool training camp. The schedules of these holdover camps will be posted on the ODP Boys Region II Camp Page. Housing

assignment and meals will be at the Holiday Inn Rockford, 7550 East State Street, Rockford, IL.

It is the responsibility of each family to make arrangements for transporting their player home at the end of holdover camp. Camp concludes around noon on July 13, 2012. If there is an overlapping regular camp that is concluding the same day and time as holdover camp, players may possibly ride the state bus home. Parents may need to contact the state administrator and/or state office to make such arrangements.

At this time we expect the 1998 age group to send one team to each of the following events:

At the end of the holdover camp, the coaches will name the 18 players selected to participate in the U S Youth Soccer ODP Boys Interregional. Players selected for the international trip to Costa Rica will receive an email in December 2012.

 

The  selected Invite players will be under the guidance of the regional age group  head  coach and 

assistants, and will be supervised by the  Region II  age group team administrators. This staff will be

responsible for training, development and supervision during the Invite training camp. The schedules of the Invite camp will be posted on the ODP Boys Region II Camp Page. Housing assignment and meals will be at the Clock Tower Resort, Rockford, IL.

The selected players will be bused from the Holiday Inn to the Clock Tower Resort where they will stay during the Invite Camp.  At the end of the camp, it is the responsibility of each family to make 

arrangements for transporting their player home Rockford, Illinois. Camp concludes around noon on July 18, 2012. If there is an overlapping regular camp that is concluding the same day and time as holdover camp, players may possibly ride the state bus home. Parents may need to contact the state administrator and/or state office to make such arrangements.

At this time we are planning to send a 1995 and a 1996 team to:

- 2012 NCAA College Cup Interregional Showcase, December 6 – 9, 2012 in Birmingham, AL

Players selected to participate in this event will be notified by email in October.

assignment and meals will be at University Plaza, 900 Crane Drive, DeKalb, IL.

The selected 1999 Holdover players will be bused from Rockford to DeKalb with their team

administrators. It is the responsibility of each family to make arrangements for transporting their player home at the end of holdover camp. The holdover camp concludes around noon on July 21, 2012. If there is an overlapping regular camp that is concluding the same day and time as holdover camp, players may possibly ride the state bus home. Parents may need to contact the state administrator and/or state office to make such arrangements.
